This article explains the way to develop the maps, using programs of the National Institute of Statistic, Geography and Informática (INEGI) of Mexico. The process and the problems found in the project, as well as the cartography are reviewed that was developed for the illustrated Atlas of the towns of Indians of the New Spain, 1800.
