| Description | Most images on this CD-ROM are LANDSAT browse images, used to determine image
quality and cloud cover. These images
are subsampled at a ratio 16 to 1 and
have an effective resolution of 480
meters (approximately 3/10 of a mile
per pixel. JPEG image compression may degrade
some images to less than the subsampled resolution.
Full resolution images are 512X512 sections of Landsat scenes, with a
ground resolution of 30 meters. A high
quality JPEG image compression routine has been
used on these images to minimize image
quality degredation |
